NITROGEEZERS > Arlington WA. 1963 Russ Griffith Photo The second Krohn Chassis short version with the 376'" small block Chevy. These cars were very easily identified by the unique front suspension. They all used a home made torsion bar setup and no radius rods. The torsion arms and friction shocks had adjustable heim joints for mounting and setting up the front alignment
NITROGEEZERS > Arlington WA. 1964 Russ Griffith Photo The 2nd Krohn Chassis with Blown small block Chevy. This combination was very consistent at the low 8 second to high 7 second range and over 185 mph and always raised havoc with the more powerful Chrysler's
NITROGEEZERS > Arlington WA. 1966 Russ Griffith gave me this photo in 2004 at the Arlington Hot Rod Reunion. This is the fourth Chassis built in the Krohn shop and was built for Dean Rue to run a small block Chevy. in 1965. Here it is seen being run as the PDQ (Paul Blaylock, Dean Rue, Quinten Rue) running a Chrysler. Paul Blaylock drove Quinten built the engines and Dean was the wallet man
NITROGEEZERS > Pacific Raceways. This is the second chassis built in the Krohn shop after it was lengthened from 92" w/b to 130" w/b When the car was short it had a tendency to lift the front end and turn right. All the pit hot shots said it needed a differential. We took it home and brought it out a week later lengthened and it ran straight as an arrow. This is a Russ Griffith photo that was miss marked as a Verheul Weiss car. The year was 1963 before anyone had coined the term JR fueler. This car was very competitive in top fuel any where it ran in the Northwest running under 8,50 and 180 mph it beat many Blown Chrysler Gas and Fuel cars
NITROGEEZERS > Some of the crew doing the between round maintenance in 1965 on the Krohn Parmenter Rue Chrysler Dragster. Glenn Tranholt holding on to the roll bar Dean Rue leaning in the tire , Phil Ness watching and Tom Coughlin looking toward the tow truck (van). Jim Krohn is adjusting valves and changing plugs. This was the third chassis built in the Krohn Shop 150" w/b and 354 Chrysler power an Nitro.
