NITROGEEZERS > A fine day for a hot rod reunion as the "Old Timer" cools off following an exhibition firing.
NITROGEEZERS > Before long, it's time to light it up again, and the usual crowd of nitro-lovers assembles to to enjoy the sensory treat.
NITROGEEZERS > Bill Pitts was the first to do static warm-ups in the pits with a lucky "guest" spectator in the seat of his "Magicar" restoration, and is the inspiration for dozens of others who have followed his lead.
NITROGEEZERS > Here is the famous "Smirnoff" dragster mentioned in the article, complete with it's years of undisturbed storage dust. The car is best remembered in its original pearl-white finish and will be restored to that.
NITROGEEZERS > The elegant and beautifully crafted tail section of "Smirnoff" is it's most distinguishing feature. It is in perfect condition. What a treat this will be at next year's CHRR!
NITROGEEZERS > Master machinist Ron Bement of Denver was showing his scratch-built, operating miniatures of an Offy and flathead engine. He fired them up hundreds of times, drawing just as much attention and admiration as the full-scale neighbors next door.
NITROGEEZERS > Although "Big John" Mazmanian passed away shortly before CHRR, his memory lives on in this beautiful recreatiion of one of his best remembered AA/GS cars.
NITROGEEZERS > Barb Hamilton brought her famous supercharged Willys Gasser from Ohio to attend this year's CHRR. The last time the car was in California was forty years ago when she raced it at Lions and Pomona.
